The printing industry is a huge consumer of paper. Fortunately, the industry is continually refining its materials and processes to reduce its environmental impact. We now have international standards to certify paper made from sustainable and well-managed forests. By sourcing paper from these forests, certified printers show their support to the cause.
Atlas Printing Press is proud to be a certified printer, putting sustainability and efficiency firmly in the spotlight and implementing safeguards to minimise our carbon footprint.
This show of support is demonstrated by using certified paper for our publications and using the globally recognised FSC or PEFC logo on our printed products. This move verifies that the following sustainability standards are met: preserving endangered animal and plant species, recognising the needs and rights of the local population, and ensuring the traceability of the tree from source to consumption.
Known as the Chain of Custody Certification, this traceability tracks the timber from the forest to the paper mill and then to the printer. This process guarantees that the product is properly tracked and not mixed with non-certified material.
